Today he chose his "Mr Messy" shirt to wear and I thought it would make for a great photo op. As most of you know, Spencer is referred to as "Messy S" in our house, so the shirt is quite fitting. Here is what I got:

the mess
People often ask why I don't post more pictures of Spencer on this blog. The simple answer is, it is much easier to take cute pictures of a 9 week old than it is a 2.5 year old! Spencer is pretty reluctant to sit still for the camera and does not like to smile upon request.

stats
We went to the Dr for Lincoln's 2 month checkup and here are his stats:
13 lbs 5 oz
24 1/4 "
He is a peanut compared to Spencer who at 2 months weighed in at 15lbs 5oz and measured 25 1/2". (I know it is bad that I am already comparing them!)
Lincoln is cooing like crazy and loves to smile. He is a very happy baby and a great sleeper too. He goes to be at 7 pm wakes up around 3 or 4 to eat and the wakes up for the day at 7 am. I can't complain about that! For now his eyes are still very blue, so I think he will follow in Scott and Spencer's foot steps with the bright blue eyes. He still doesn't have a whole ton of hair, but it is coming in slowly.
I went a little picture crazy in this post, but I know you won't mind!

where's your wand?
lincoln james, child of God
Lincoln was baptised this past weekend at St Patrick's Catholic Church. I know many of you were unable to make it so please enjoy the photos below. A big thank you to everyone who made the trip to share in Lincoln's special day. We truly appreciate the time it takes for all of you to travel so far and hope you enjoyed yourselves.

flashback friday
Today we are going back 8 weeks and then back 2.5 years! Here are both boys in their carseat at 2 days old compared to how they look now. Lincoln is a full 8 weeks today and Spencer is just over 2 1/2. You wouldn't believe how excited Spencer was when I told him to get in Linc's seat for a picture. You would think he won the lottery. Now he is itching to get in the baby swing!

the big give
You have heard of Oprah's show "The Big Give", well the Banaszynski Family Blog would like to do a Big Give of our own. Details are below:
Our daycare provider's mother is celebrating her 5 year anniversary of being cancer free this summer. To commemorate her great anniversary and strive to do something for others, she is participating in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. It is a 3 day, 60 mile walk to help raise money to find a cure for breast cancer.
Linda Burbach, or Grandma B as she is know to the children at Mechelle's house, is a wonderful women who volunteers at Spencer's daycare on a regular basis to give the kids one on one attention and help with trips to the park and other fun activities. She is a great addition to Spencer's care while Scott and I are at work and we appreciate her playing a special role in his childhood.
That being said, if you feel so inclined I have included a link to her personal donation website. Obviously this is completely optional, but it is a great cause and a wonderful way to support someone special in Spencer's, and soon to be Lincoln's, life.

my everyday
full fledged
Lincoln is now a full fledged smiler! He is usually pretty good about handing them out too. Scott seems to get the most out of him, I think having Dad around is a welcomed change of pace for Lincoln so he is sure to reward. The pictures below represent the many looks I get while trying to capture a big grin on film.

if you build it
Scott is putting the finishing touches on Spencer's big boy bunk beds. It is all stained and ready for a coat of poly and then it can be assembled. Spencer has been sleeping on a mattress on his floor since November. He is so excited to sleep in this new bed! (FYI...there are slats that will go in the headboards and footboards that are not in the picture.)
happy boy
As a baby, Spencer absolutely hated being naked. We would use bath time as a way to wear him out before bed. He would cry from the minute his clothes came off until he was fully clothed again.
Not Lincoln...the nakeder (is that a word?), the better. Lincoln sits quietly through bath time and usually prefers to remain pants less for a while after his diaper change. Hopefully this is something he will out grow by high school!
