brand new boy

Lincoln got his first haircut on Tuesday night. He looks like such a big boy with his hair trimmed off his neck and around his ears. Poor baby cried the whole time it was getting done, but he sure enjoyed a few licks of the sucker that followed.

point of view

Scott is 6'5" tall. I am 5'6" tall. Those 12 inches make all the difference in the way we view things. I am not talking about our political views, our outlook on life, preferences in television. I am literally talking about how we see things in our house.

There have been numerous times when I haven't been able to find something and Scott can see it plain as day. It is then that I have to remind him to come down to my level, literally squat down a foot, and see what I see. He will then lift me up to enjoy the view he gets to appreciate on a daily basis. (From his point of view I am reminded that I need to clean the top of my fridge more often!)

Here are pictures taken from someone else in our house's point of view:

Yep, this is what Hampton takes in on a nightly basis. And here she is in all her lazy dog glory.

flashback friday

Spencer's First Thanksgiving

No, it is not the most flattering picture of Spencer, but it has a great story to go with it.

You know how families have their favorite stories that they love to tell over and over again. Stories that embarrass someone or bring back memories, stories that make someone cringe or result in a belly ache from laughter.

My family on both sides is guilty of this. Up north with the Felhofers the cousins will spend countless hours around the campfire recounting when a certain someone refused to wear a shirt while playing tennis with their Grandpa. The Schuler women can go on and on about drinking too much during a shopping trip dinner that they couldn't afford the food when it was time to eat.

Scott's family has its stories too. And this happens to be one of my favorite.

You see, the earrings Spencer is wearing belong to his Great Grandma Janet Banaszynski and they happen to be Scott's favorite pair. Legend has it, Scott would wear these earrings on a regular basis when visiting his Grandma. In his defense, he claims to have been drawn to them because they look like sticks of dynamite, but they are still earrings none the less.

So, what would a holiday at GGJ's be without someone of the male gender modeling these little beauties. Spencer used to be the only willing subject, but Lincoln may have to carry the torch this year.

Scott....I told you this was a funny one....you are laughing with me right!?!

baby boy

The baby in our house turns 9 months on Saturday. As I sit here tonight, I can't help but ask myself the following: where did the time go? how did it move so fast? did I savor every sweet baby moment? did I soak it all in like I should have?

For me, and many others I am sure, there are never enough hours in the day to love my children. If I had 2 more hours, I would want 10...there is never enough time for me to hold them, kiss them, tickle them, snuggle them, and on and on. Never enough time.

It doesn't help that Lincoln has done everything early; crawling at 8 months and now at 9 months he is cruising the furniture and starting to test the waters of letting go.

Thanks for being our baby Lincoln. You have filled our hearts, and completed our home.

reason 736 why I love my husband

Because when I came home from my girl's weekend, the house was clean, the kids were happy, and there were flowers on the table.

Here are a few pictures Scott took during the Packer game on Sunday.

flashback friday

Speaking of naughty babies...(see the post below this one if you aren't sure what I am referencing!)

It appears I may need to pull out the label maker and pass down the "NAUGHTY" label!

naughty baby

Lincoln found a new toy in our house. Two weeks ago I was standing in the kitchen doing dishes and I heard a splash. Thinking it was Hampton drinking from her water bowl, I walked in that direction to grab her towel and wipe her mouth. Much to my surprise, this is what I found:

He was soaking wet and oh so proud of himself! Now every time he is put down in the living room he heads straight towards the kitchen and Hampton's bowls. We repeatedly pick him up, tell him "no no", and place him back in the living room. The determined little boy that he is, he heads right back out to the kitchen. Even Spencer has caught on and will let us know when Lincoln is up to no good and heading for a splash fest.

Naughty Baby!

say what

This was Lincoln's reaction when he found out how long it has been since I posted. More of his cuteness, and naughtiness, coming soon!

spiderman and his penguin

In my perfect Halloween world, Spencer and Lincoln would have had adorable coordinating costumes:

big bad wolf and a little pig

elephant and a peanut

knight and a dragon

I could go on and on.

Back to reality with a three year old, I ended up with Spiderman and a Penguin.
