8:49 am

That's what time we woke up this morning! You read that right, 11 minutes to 9:00 am. To celebrate we headed to Willow River State Park. The boys absolutely love the water fall and this time Hampton got to tag along.

you might be a red neck if

-you make a slip and slide in your back yard using contractor's poly
-you secure said poly down with patio pavers and bags of mulch

his essence

When I registered for my online photography workshop we filled out a questionnaire for the instructor. The questions ranged from what type of equipment we had, our level of experience, and most importantly what we hoped to gain from the class. For me, the answer to the last question was simple.

I want to capture images that communicate the true essence of the moment. When I look at a picture I have taken, I want to hear the laughter, smell the air, and feel moved remembering that very moment in time.

The photo below represents just that. This is Spencer at three and three quarters. Dinosaur loving, corn dog eating, sweet, sensitive, and a true blue momma's boy. This picture makes me miss this age before it has even passed.

you didn't sit

you stood, on the chair, and shook it violently while laughing.

you get nothing.

bring on the rain

Saturday brought the rain that was so desperately needed in our area. The grass and plants are soaking it all in, and so did Spencer. (lots of pictures, I am taking a photography workshop so I am practicing)

when it comes to corn on the cob

You my dear son, have finally seen the light.

And you sweet boy, were never in the dark.

same

It just so happens that we visit our local ice cream shop roughly the same time each year and I have managed to catch the first visit of the summer via cellphone camera. This year was no exception, as you will see below. So much has change since the first picture in June of 2007, but for this poor mother's heart, let's focus on what has remained them same.

Spencer Eating Ice Cream - June 2007

Spencer Eating Ice Cream - June 2008

Spencer Sharing Ice Cream - June 2009

Same adorable chubby cheeks (now just an additional pair to feed).

Same utter joy when you get out of the car and realize where we have stopped (now just twice the squeals).

Same messy face requiring multiple wet ones upon return to the car (now just double the wet ones).

Same sweet boy who I can't imagine would ever intentionally hurt a soul, for it would cause him equal pain (now just a brother who benefits from your generosity).

Same, same, same...maybe if I keep repeating it there will be more truth than not.

eta...don't feel bad for linc. he had already finished his cone and was begging for more from his bro.
