brrrr

Last week the temperature hovered in the teens which meant little outside play time for the boys. This of course means a lot of built up energy that needs to be burned. At the first sign of a 30 degree day, the kids were bundled up and shipped outside. And by kids I mean everyone but me!

scenes from a bath

Things are crazy around here. Good crazy, but crazy none the less. Blogging and picture taking have been pushed to the back burner and in their place are feeding, changing, playing, and on and on. However, as our lives begin to adjust to our new normal of a family of five, I am making a valiant effort to share more stories and take more pictures. Starting now:

Here is what bath night looks like at our house. It's a bit crowded, Mom and Sloane end up just as wet as those in the tub, the end goal is for the boys to at least smell good if nothing else is accomplished for the day!

10 truths about halloween 2010

1. I swore I would never have my children use costumes from their siblings. I lied. I strongly encouraged it, and Lincoln fell hook, line and sinker.

2. I had visions of this Halloween being so special because I would be home on maternity leave and would have so much time to do fun things with the boys. FAIL. I did carve their pumpkins, but that's about it. Scott and I's pumpkins were done 20 minutes before trick or treating. And Sloane's pumpkin, there's always next year right.

3. Speaking of Sloane, I do have a baby girl, she did not wear a costume. Again, next year.

4. I have consumed large amounts of my children's Halloween candy and it is only November 1st. I have no shame.

5. Having this family for the holidays makes everything worth it. Really, really worth it.

6. Spencer cried at the Halloween party because he was not aggressive enough to get the candy that fell from the pinata. Someday this will end...right.

7. Lincoln was mad that he had to hit the little kids pinata and was not able to participate with the big kids. I don't think that will ever end.

8. I handed out Halloween candy with a 3 week old, 9 pound baby in my left arm. I am a little sore today.

9. Scott takes them trick or treating so I can man the house. I think next year we will all go out. I have never seen my boys in action.

10. I am already dreaming of Halloween 2011. I have visions of great coordinate costumes and grand pumpkins, well rested parents and adult parties. A girl can dream right?
